Who this policy is from
PedagogyFutures Inc. ("PedagogyFutures", "we", "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This policy explains when we give refunds for payments made on pedagogyfutures.org. It is part of our Terms of Service. All online payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Membership plans
Membership plans are subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each billing period (for example, every month or every year, depending on the plan). The price, the billing period, and any free trial are shown before you pay.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from "Plan & billing" on your dashboard's Account page. You will not be charged again, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Free trials. If a plan includes a free trial, you can cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged.
- New plans. If you ask within 14 days of your first payment for a plan, we will refund that payment in full and end the plan.
- Renewals. We do not normally refund a renewal once a new billing period has started. If you meant to cancel and did not use the plan after it renewed, tell us within 14 days of the renewal and we will refund it.
- Mistakes. If you were charged twice, charged after you cancelled, or charged the wrong amount, we will refund the charge that should not have happened.
Course purchases
Some courses can be bought on their own with a single payment.
- If you ask within 14 days of buying a course, and you have not completed it or received its certificate, we will refund the payment in full.
- After a full refund the course closes again. Your enrolment record, progress, and any certificate already issued are kept in your account, because they record work you did, but you can no longer open the course's lessons unless a plan or your organization gives you access.
- If a course you paid for is withdrawn, or changed in a way that materially reduces what you paid for, we will offer a refund of the unused part or a reasonable alternative.
Donations
Gifts to PedagogyFutures support a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and are generally not refundable. We will refund a donation that was made in error: for example a duplicate charge, the wrong amount, or a gift you did not mean to make. Please tell us within 30 days of the charge. After that, contact us anyway and we will consider the request, but we may not be able to refund it.
When a donation is refunded, we update our records of your giving, and the refunded amount is no longer a gift for tax purposes. If you received a donation receipt, it no longer covers the refunded amount.
Monthly gifts can be stopped or changed at any time from the giving section of your dashboard's Account page, or by emailing team@pedagogyfutures.org. Stopping a monthly gift ends future charges; it does not refund earlier ones, except as described above.
Webinars and events
Webinars and events on pedagogyfutures.org are free to register for. If we ever charge for an event and then cancel it, we will refund what you paid in full.
Schools, districts, and organizations
Professional development workshops, organization seats, and other work for schools, districts, and organizations are billed by invoice under a written agreement or quote. Refunds and cancellations for that work follow that agreement. If it does not cover a situation, contact us and we will work it out with you in good faith.
How to ask for a refund
Email team@pedagogyfutures.org from the address you paid with, and tell us what the payment was for, the date, and the amount. Please do not send card details. We aim to reply within five business days.
Approved refunds go back to the card or account you paid with, through Stripe. Stripe usually sends a refund within a few days, and your bank or card issuer may take five to ten business days after that to show it. We cannot refund to a different card or account.
If you dispute a charge with your bank instead, please let us know as well, so that we can help and avoid charging you again.
Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy takes away a right to cancel or to a refund that the law gives you. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have a right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. For digital content and services that you ask to start using straight away, that right can end once you start, as the law allows; the refund windows above still apply to you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes do not affect payments made before they took effect.
