About

The level-headed voice in the room.

A nonprofit of educators, philosophers, and humanists helping schools decide for themselves how, and whether, to use new technology.

Our mission

In a world of tech evangelists who think that AI will solve all our problems and alarmists who want us to fear change, we're on a mission to be the level-headed voice in the room.

What we believe, and how it shapes our work.

Balanced & Practical

When you choose PedagogyFutures as your PD provider you are providing your team with a workshop that resists the hype, offers a balanced perspective, is honest about the benefits and downsides of tech integration, and has no loyalty to a particular tech company or tool.

We understand that the pace of AI development and constant flurry of news can be overwhelming to keep up with, so our trainers will offer practical advice that you can put into practice immediately and help you chart a path to keep adapting as technology changes.

Humans First

At our core, we are humanists. Our team has backgrounds in philosophy and ethics, human rights education, and the humanities. We believe deeply in the power of education and in schools as places where students figure out who they want to be in the world. With that world feeling more uncertain than ever, the task that schools are facing is immense.

Clear Vision

This is not a time to look away and become nostalgic for a bygone era of education. The truth is that our education system was struggling long before AI entered the picture, from low engagement and shrinking attention spans to declines in reading scores and critical thinking. And there were questions about meaningful assessment long before AI-assisted plagiarism became the biggest concern.

This is also not the time to blindly follow where big tech companies are trying to lead us. Our human agency to decide for ourselves how and when to use any of the technology available must remain central. Amidst all the talk about the inevitability of tech advancement and integration lies a whole host of unanswered questions that today's students must be prepared to engage with in their future institutions, workplaces, and communities.

Targeted Support

We do not tell schools and teachers what tools they should and shouldn't use. We help build the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions and confidently navigate the uncertainties of our current moment. Our goal is an education ecosystem that is forward-thinking, proactive, and guided by its core commitments to student growth and well-being.

Promoting a responsible, ethical, human‑centered future for education technology.
